Orlando Magic: 200-1
Elfrid Payton is a sneaky Rookie of the Year candidate, Nikola Vucevic only inked a reasonably priced expansion and the Orlando Magic’s defense has allowed an exceptionally stingy 97.2 points per 100 possessions during preseason play, according to RealGM.com.
You’re able to accurately cite the fact that the Magic have been such sound statistical stoppers because their preseason schedule included the hapless Sixers and Indiana Pacers, but know this: You are no fun at parties.
Additionally decidedly unfun: Victor Oladipo’s being sidelined for a little while with a nasty injury.
Oct. 23 the team release relayed the information that was buzz-killing:
Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo will be out indefinitely after suffering a facial fracture in clinic Thursday, General Manager Rob Hennigan declared today.
Thursday afternoon oladipo, who was evaluated, will experience a surgical procedure. After taking an elbow in a practice 12, he was injured.
Oladipo, last year’s lottery selection and someone the Magic expected would take a jump this year, was battling a terrible knee during the preseason. Neither he nor Orlando needed this.
Looks like Payton will have an opportunity to show himself immediately. That’s good.
Seems like Ben Gordon is in the combination to begin at guard. That is less good.
Back, Victor.
