Mercedes engines will be used by williams at least.
The team, already dedicated to Mercedes for next season, have signed a new agreement for the five decades.
Since finishing third in 2015 and 2014 williams have declined, their initial two seasons along with Mercedes after motors came to F1.
They finished last in 2018 and are on course this season, however they hope a section restructure will rekindle fortunes.
Williams deputy team chief Claire Williams said:”Mercedes has been among the game’s most prosperous engine suppliers and we think they will continue to have an extremely competitive engine package going forward.
“Over our time together with them they’ve come to be a real friend of the team.”
New rules intended for 2021 are targeted toward making the grid competitive. A budget cap has been agreed, although new technical rules to allow closer racing happen to be finalised before groups to agreeing a revenue divide, along with the game’s bosses proceed.
“Williams is among the iconic manufacturers in F1,” said Mercedes motorsport manager Toto Wolff.
“They have been through some tough times recently but that’s just served to demonstrate their durability and strength of personality as they battle back into where they belong on the grid.
“I’m sure that the prognosis for individual teams is glowing under the financial regulations that will be introduced from 2021 and we’re delighted to continue our partnership with Williams to that new age of our game.”
The group has been struck on by the inferior on-track performance . This week, they posted a loss of #16.8m to the initial six months of the calendar year, which has been attributed to reduced prize money and the reduction of a sponsorship income.
Chief executive Mike O’Driscoll stated:”Although we continue to face challenges in a very dynamic environment, we consider the majority of the effect on EBITDA [earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation] to the full year has been recorded in these interim results.
“We continue to think we’re well positioned to respond to the challenges ahead, with world-class facilities plus a strong and talented organisation.”
Williams possess a contract to continue into next year.
They have not yet decided on another driver, together with book driver Nicolas Latifi and incumbent Robert Kubica both in with a prospect of the seat.
