Yerry Mina: Everton defender fined over FA betting breaches
After being found guilty of breaching gambling regulations everton defender Yerry Mina was fined # 10,000 by the FA and warned about his future conduct.
The Everton defender, who came at Goodison Park in Barcelona in August 2018, was discovered to be in breach of FA Rule E8(3), by participating in an ad for betting activity that he is banned from engaging in.
After he appeared in an ad for a company in his native Colombia earlier this year he had been charged in July.
The 24-year-old apologised for his error and confessed the charge of misconduct at the earliest chance.
The FA Regulatory Commission has published the written reasons behind the decision, that reveal all money Mina obtained was contributed to the participant’s own foundation – to help young people.
Mina has played in all four of Everton’s Premier League matches this year.
The centre-back may be in contention for selection before the country against Venezuela and showcased with Brazil in Colombia’s 2-2 draw Saturday.
Everton play with Bournemouth after the break on September 15, live out of 1pm on Sky Sports Premier League ; kick-off 2pm.
