After successfully defending his Open de Espana title using a five-shot success in Madrid jon Rahm has set his sights on a three-peat that was Spanish.
Rahm became the Spaniard to reach five European Tour victories and moved top of this Hurry after a display on home land to Dubai standings.
The entire world extended his advantage with four birdies and an eagle , with a bogey and shot a lead in the last afternoon his single blemish at a 66.
I am happy I three-putted 17, Rahm said. I wished to move bogey-free, but at the end of the afternoon I did the significant thing, I managed to successfully defend it in front of the home audience.
It might not be the strongest field yet but its always very tough for me to keep everything in check and to play the weekend I did for them is always really fun.
I can not wait for next year to return and hopefully do it three times. The audience was anything else. Spanish audiences love golf and they love us coming back.
I play a whole lot of tournaments through the year which dont get this much presence, therefore it reveals how much Spain needs golf, how much they need more events and how much they enjoy it. Its terrific for the sport of golf, it is good for Spain and hopefully it can only get bigger.

Id have liked to find a birdies early to put some pressure on Jon, however didnt happen today, Rahm said. I needed to hang in there, struggle for the next place and I was very pleased that the birdies came in the conclusion.
He already had a big lead from the start. You could observe that dip in half following three or four holes and it changes your perspective – but that didnt occur, but it went the other way
After he eagled four, seven shots proved to be a commanding lead. It had been his tournament and he played good. All I could do was focus on my ball, try and finish next and I was able to do this.
