Washington Redskins’ Derrius Guice wants second opinion on knee injury

Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice will look for another opinion.
Guice will consult with Dr. James Andrews who’s served as part of the Redskins’ health care team and is currently well known to this 22-year-old, after a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury in 2018 which finished Guice’s rookie year.
Guice left the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles after gaining 18 yards on 10 carries, however when his right knee failed to enhance Guice has chose to find a second opinion.
It’s been reported Andrews could cut the meniscus at Guice’s right knee, a surgical procedure using a recovery time of four to fourteen days.
Without Guice, 34-year-old Adrian Peterson is expected to take more of the load.
He was a scratch in Philadelphia a week, however, Redskins head coach Jay Gruden insisted that he was convinced Peterson would be ready to perform with when his number is called.
Washington’s offensive line struggled against Philadelphia, but the Eagles have an exceptional front four and was clearly among seven defences last season to limit opponents to under 100 yards rushing per game (96.9).
